As an accountant you will have a key role in developing and managing the relevant accounting topics. You will have extraordinary chance to build your own role together with support of Virya finance colleagues.

The vacant position is in Braine-l’Alleud but homeworking is possible up to three days per week.

Responsibilities:

•       Managing accounts payable processes:

  •     Handle processing of invoices (automated through OCR software) and automated payment batches

  •     Handle manual vendor payments

  •     Resolve payment issues and tackle vendor communication and communication with other colleagues who are involved in purchase process

  •     Invoice verification, support business approval process for payments

  •     Proficient in creating aging reports

•       Managing accounts receivable processes:

  •     Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely collection of customer payments

  •     Resolve revenue collection issues and tackle customer communication

  •     Proficient in creating aging reports, analyzing AR trends, and implementing strategies to reduce working capital

  •     Customer-driven communication

•       Managing the payment process for few entities.

•       Reconcile bank accounts, customer and vendor statements 

•       Leding the operational communication with the banks re. payments, reports, and other topics.

•       Preparation of monthly financial reports

•       Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies

•       Provide support to other members of the finance team as required

•       Embrace (continuous) technological improvements and support new software implementations

•       Coordination of the timesheet process

Job requirements

The ideal profile:

•       Knowledge – Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

•       Experience – Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable

•       IT – Exact Online P2P or any other accounting application is a plus

•       Focus – Strong focus to detail, accuracy and ability to multi-task

•       Flexibility – you will work on both AP and AR and demonstrate a keen interest to learn new things and take on new responsibilities

•       Team player – Can work both independently and as part of a team

•       Communication – dare to ask questions and communicate openly and constructively about challenges

•       Language – predominantly English-speaking environment, Dutch or/and French is a plus
