We are currently looking for a European HSSE Coordinator who will be responsible for the coordination and harmonization of the HSSE strategyn governance and standards across our European sites. In this strategic and coordinating role you will ensure that HSSE policies, frameworks and best practices are consistently developed, implemented and monitored across the different countries while fostering a strong and unified safety culture throughout the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
You oversee the European HSSE governance framework, driving consistency, compliance, and continuous alignment of HSSE policies, procedures, standards, and corporate requirements across Belgium, France, and Poland
You act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for local HSE teams, and promote a proactive HSSE culture.
You monitor changes in European and national HSSE legislation and translate these into practical internal policies and procedures.
You coordinate internal audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessment activities, while monitoring and reporting on HSSE performance, KPI’s, trends and corrective actions to ensure compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
You facilitate knowledge sharing and the exchange of best practices across sites and countries.
You lead and coordinate cross-country projects related to health, safety, security, environmental management, and compliance.
Job requirements
You have a minimum of 10 years of relevant HSSE experience within an international or multi-site environment, preferably within a high risk sector (petrochemicals, oil& gas…)
You have a solid understanding of (European) HSSE legislation, and have demonstraed experience in coordinating an aligning policies, procedures and standards.
You have experience working with ISO management systems, preferably ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
You communicate effectively, build strong relationships, and are able to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels
You combine an analytical mindset with a structured and results-oriented approach.
You are willing to travel regularly between our European sites located in Belgium, France, and Poland. The role offers flexibility regarding the base location, which can be in any of these three countries.
