Virya Energy, founded in 2019 through the strategic partnership of Colruyt Group and its majority shareholder Korys, is a Belgian pioneer in sustainable energy solutions. To support the development of the renewable energy solutions of Virya Energy, we are hiring a Public Affairs Advisor.
In this position, you will identify opportunities and risks arising from regulatory framework developments at Belgian (regional and federal) and European level. The main scope of the activities will be defined and could vary in time.
Your activities will include:
Active follow-up of the legislations impacting our activities (renewable energy, permitting, storage, hydrogen, EV charging, networks…).
Support the development teams for the development of our projects, using your network and expertise.
Build expertise, analyze and write simplified notes on the evolution of the political and economic context for our activities.
Building and managing your network with Belgian authorities and with other stakeholders giving input to the regulatory framework.
Prepare positions of Virya Energy and advocate for them in federations like FEBEG, Edora/ODE, WindEurope/SolarPower Europe Voka/AKT or through direct contacts.
Reporting to the Public Affairs Manager.
Job requirements
You have obtained a university master's degree in law, economics, political science or similar.
You have a minimum of 3 years of professional work experience in the energy sector in Europe, experience involving political contacts or decision making in permitting of energy projects is requiered.
You have good interpersonal skills and are strongly willing to develop your professional network.
You have high communicative skills, can synthesize complex issues and bring them clearly to internal and external people, in writing and in presentation.
You are a strong team player able to easily work together with members from internal teams.
You demonstrate a high level of organization, initiative, motivation and autonomy.
You are fluent in French or Dutch. You can express yourself clearly in the other main national language and in English.
